Career Highlights:

Emily A. Cashman, Psy.D is a licensed clinical psychologist in both Connecticut and New Hampshire.  Dr. Cashman trained at Yeshiva University and Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.  She holds her doctorate from a unique, APA accredited program in child and school psychology and has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fairfield University.

During graduate school, Dr. Cashman trained at Four Winds Hospital, White Plains Hospital, the Yale Child Study Center, The Post-Traumatic Stress Center, and the Katonah-Lewisboro School District.

She completed her post-doctoral internship at the Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center in Norwalk, Connecticut, and went on to be the Assistant Director of their extended day treatment program for school-age children.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Cashman directed the Right Track extended day treatment program through St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Dr. Cashman works with children, adolescents, and adults, providing individual, group, and family therapy. Parent consultation is an essential ingredient of her practice.

She utilizes a variety of techniques with her clients including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Relationship-Based therapy, play therapy, and traditional dynamic treatment. She views each client as unique and takes the time to assess each client in terms of their presenting problem, their developmental history, family history, current relationships, and current family dynamic. Only then is the treatment chosen for that individual. Parents are expected to be involved with treatment if the client is a child.
